If you’ve been an Instructor for a while, share your knowledge and experience with up and coming PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors. Take the next step and become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. Learn what it takes to become an integral part of the Instructor development process and help shape the next generation of PADI Instructors.
To become an IDC Staff Instructor you must be at least 18 years old. You must be certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer in active teaching status for the current year. You must also be an Emergency First Response Instructor.
Taking the IDC Staff Instructor course provides you with in-depth knowledge of the instructor development process and prepares you to shape the next generation of PADI Professionals. After a pre-assessment of dive theory, dive skills and role-model presentation techniques, you’ll participate in these sessions:
You also need to audit an entire IDC. Once certified, you can assist with Instructor training during IDCs and teach the Assistant Instructor course independently.
The IDC Staff Instructor course at Scuba Shack takes a total of 16 days. First you will spend 3 days with our PADI Course Director completing the pre-assessment and then you will audit an entire IDC. The Instructor Development Course at Scuba Shack runs over a period of 14 days.
The IDCS course is 32500 Baht including the Course Director material (20000 Baht without CD material). The Course Director material is required. This DOES NOT include the PADI Staff Instructor application fee. You pay that directly to PADI upon completion of your training. It is currently AUD $202.
